It is easy to stay cozy through the holidays but after the holidays are over and its still cold outside, you might enter what I like to call the "spring slump". Personally I live in Canada, in a very snowy area. After 3 months of constant snow you can start to get tired of the winter temperature. Here are some tips and tricks to help it feel more like spring if you live in a cold climate like I do.
1. Light some candles
Candles always have an inviting atmosphere and can warm up any space. During the holidays you may have a pumpkin spice or peppermint candle that you like. However, don't be afraid to add a cozy scent in the spring too. Personally in the spring I am a big fan of florals. The Voluspa candles are some of my favourite.I like their rose collection. My personal favourite is Bergamont Rose. If you are a candle lover like me, I'm excited to announce EMthelifestyle is releasing candles this summer!
2. Spring/Easter decor
Another way to beat the winter blues while still maintaining a cozy
atmosphere is to spruce up your home a bit. Add some flowers and plants. If you celebrate easter there is tons of cute Easter decor. Some great places to shop (that are also inexpensive) are Marshalls, Walmart, Homesense, and Indigo if your in Canada. Adding even little bits of decor can make you feel like its spring even though irt may still look like a winter wonderland outside.
3. Work out
This tip is not so much for being cozy as it is for beating the winter blues. Whether or not you want to be fitter or lose weight, exercise is a great way to bbost your mood and your endorphins. Whether it's joining a gym, going to a yoga class every week, or just going for daily walks, getting out of the house and doing something good for your body is a good step to keep your mind off the cold.
4. Pillows and Throws
Adding furry or fluffy pillows to a space can make it more cozy. Adding a throw to your bed or adding extra pillows not only makes your bed more comfy, but also look more cozy and inviting. There are a lot of good options for accent pillows and throws. Some places are Wayfair, Amazon, and Homesense.
